Transforming women's life and work

Lucy Cavendish Singers

The Singers rehearsing

"Sing lustily and with a good courage. Beware of singing as if you were half dead, or half asleep; but lift up your voice with strength..." John Wesley Instructions for Singing, 1761

The Lucy Cavendish Singers have been delighting audiences since their first public concert in 2009. The group of 12 to 14 singers - all women - performs entirely from memory bringing spontaneity and directness to their performances. The choir performs music from medieval to modern, plainsong to folksong, from jazz standards to music theatre, classical and opera. From this diverse repertoire each programme is woven into a seamless whole.
