Lucy Cavendish offers a number of scholarships and bursaries to postgraduate offer-holders, with preference given in the first instance to those nominating the College as their first or second choice, at application. We also make hardship awards and loans, as well as grants to offset the costs of academic travel and electives. Around one third of our students receive financial support from the College each year.

The College supports two scholarships each year through the University of Cambridge Home Scholarship Scheme. These scholarships are open to PhD applicants in any subject, and MPhil applicants intending to embark on further study. We also consider postgraduate offer-holders for the awards below:

We also offer at least one studentship a year to a student able to demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, alongside sporting achievement in rowing. In 2015-16, the value of this studentship is £10,000.

Awards at a lower value include the Dorothy and Joseph Needham Studentship (for students in the sciences), and American Friends Studentships (for students from the USA and Canada). We also make grants to offset the costs of research-related travel, and attendance at conferences.
