Lucy Cavendish has accepted part-time postgraduates for over twenty years, and our staff are experienced in dealing with issues specific to part-time study. Part-time students are encouraged to participate in the intellectual and social life of the College, and have all the rights associated with membership, including access to the gym, library, common room, and music room. They are welcome at every Lucy Cavendish event, from weekly talks, Sunday lunches and formal halls through to the annual Summer Garden Party, and may also host their own events in College, with support from our Conferencing team. Part-time students can book single or twin guest rooms for short stays at any point in the year, and we have occasional out-of-term accommodation for those wishing to spend longer in Cambridge.

A number of our part-time students are enrolled on one of the MSt courses offered by the Institute of Continuing Education, whilst others study for MEd, MPhil, PhD and EdD degrees.

Prospective applicants for the MSt Creative Writing should note that we have a particularly strong tradition in this area. We run an annual fiction prize for unpublished female writers, as well as conferences and events showcasing literature by women; members and associates of the College include the authors PD James, Stella Rimington, Sophie Hannah, Susan Sellers and Manda Scott.

Information about part-time courses other than MSt degrees is available on the University's Graduate Admissions site.
