Lucy Cavendish College has supported part-time postgraduates for over twenty years, and we warmly welcome applications for part-time study. All of our students are encouraged to participate in the intellectual and social life of the College, and part-time students have all the rights associated with membership, including access to the gym, library, common room.
You will be welcome at every Lucy Cavendish event, from Induction and Matriculation to weekly talks, Sunday lunches and formal halls through to the annual Summer Garden Party, and may also host your own events in College. Part-time students can book single or twin guest rooms for short stays at any point in the year (subject to availability), and we have occasional out-of-term accommodation for those wishing to spend longer in Cambridge.
Currently our part time students are enrolled on the following courses:
We also are home to the students on the PGDE who have sought associate student status with us.
Our part-time students study in fields as diverse as Engineering, Veterinary Science, History and Pathology. We welcome students from all disciplines, and we are particularly strong in Creative Writing and Education. We run an annual Fiction Prize for unpublished female writers, as well as conferences and events showcasing literature by women; Sophie Hannah (Internationally best selling author of crime fiction) is a Fellow Commoner. Other members and associates of the College include the authors Stella Rimington, Susan Sellers and Manda Scott.
Graduate Admissions information on part-time study is available here. If you would like to speak to someone about making an application to study at Lucy Cavendish, please contact our Admissions Officer Gaby Jones (firstname.lastname@example.org).
