Lucy Cavendish has a diverse and supportive community of Engineers, comprising around twenty Bachelors, Masters, and PhD students from around the world.

The Cambridge course leads to a BA after three years, and ordinarily an MEng, after four. It provides a broad education in engineering fundamentals, followed by in-depth training in one professional specialism. Cambridge Engineers are highly employable, and almost all find jobs within six months of graduating.

Further information about the course can be found on the Faculty and University websites.

Course Requirements

We have in the past accepted applicants with a range of British and international qualifications, including vocational qualifications in engineering disciplines. However, applicants must have a very strong background in mathematics: a good A-level (or equivalent) in Mathematics is essential, alongside Physics and one other Science. Further Mathematics AS- or A-level is also highly desirable.

See the general Entrance Requirements and FAQ for more information about our academic conditions. You can also contact our Admissions Office with queries.

Admissions Assessment

Applicants to Lucy Cavendish will not be required to sit a pre-interview assessment.  Applicants invited for interview will be asked to sit a written assessment on the day of their interviews. This assessment will last no longer than one hour, and will be similar in content and format to the assessment used by other colleges, prior to interview. Specifications can be found in the Entry Requirements section here.
