Culture and Creativity in College

The College has been exploring some fascinating ways to celebrate our 50th Anniversary through musical and visual arts...

The Lucy Cavendish Calypso

Members of the Cambridge University Steel Pan Society have composed a college calypso especially for the event, which you will be able to hear at the Super Garden Party, where the Steel Pans will be performing.

Meanwhile, you can see them perform by clicking here.

The College Collage

The visual arts are celebrated by the commission of a very special Lucy Cavendish collage, commissioned from a local artist, Emma Bennett (pictured, left), using recycled paper. The collage depicts some of the College’s iconic buildings set amongst the tranquil surroundings of the College gardens. It also incorporates some hidden gems including a Nautilus Shell from the College Shield of Arms, and an unusual bench donated by the family of founding Fellow Dr Anna Bidder.

The collage now hangs in our new Histon Road Student Centre, but you are invited to support the College by buying a print for £5.
