Lucy Cavendish College on BBC’s The One Show

Lucy Cavendish College, part of the University of Cambridge and the only college in Europe specifically for women aged 21+, will feature on The One Show, BBC1 at 7.00pm on 3 March 2016, in a report showcasing the life-changing experiences of students at the College.BBC The One Show

A team, led by reporter Lucy Siegle, recently visited Lucy Cavendish to interview College President, Jackie Ashley, and alumnae about their experiences at Cambridge. The alumnae interviews highlight the diversity of the College community and how access to a Cambridge education has impacted on their subsequent careers.

The One Show team met a number of alumnae, including Nicky Jecks who returned to higher education in her twenties, combining motherhood with studying Medicine. Now working as a doctor in the RAF, Nicky continues to value the opportunity she had to access a Cambridge education as a mature student:
