Students at Lucy Cavendish College have hijacked its official Instagram account to show potential students what life at the College is really like.
The project began this week, with images posted by Australian Gender Studies student, Laura Carman. Every few days for the rest of Michealmas Term, the account will be passed to a different student to post images of their daily lives. So far, posts have included photos of the Christmas decorations and daily life at the College.
Other contributors will include first year English student Shameera Nair Lin, part-time Masters in Education student Caroline Vinall and PhD Medic Vivian Sze-To. The students aim to show as many different aspects to life at Lucy Cavendish as possible and will continue the takeover once they return in January.
"I signed up for the #instatakeover to present a day-to-day perspective on life at Lucy. I also study digital platforms and gender, so naturally I love social media!
I hope this series showcases my experience, as well as the experiences of other Lucians, and provides bright and relatable content for prospective Lucy applicants! As an international student at such a diverse college, it is incredibly important to represent our diversity through media."
Admissions Tutor, Dr Victoria Harvey said:
“It’s great to see our students taking pride in the College and reaching out to potential applicants to let them know more about life here. We welcome students from a huge range of backgrounds, and this initiative will show the richness and diversity of our College community.”
