There is a strong sense of community here; the pursuit of academic excellence is combined with relaxed companionship and warm informality. This is seen especially at our weekly formal halls where students and academic staff and their guests enjoy each others' company.
There is a high standard of individual attention and for those students who face financial difficulties bursaries are available.
A well-stocked library provides ample space for working in peace, and the student common room and bar are there for relaxation.
As for accommodation, the College can generally house all students who seek it in college-owned premises (most with en-suite facilities) for the duration of their course.
The College is governed by the President, Fellows and Bursar. They are the guarantors of the academic and financial integrity of the College, and it is their duty to promote the best interest of the College and its students by supporting teaching, learning and research. Many Fellows have gained an international reputation for their research in the Sciences and the Humanities.
For more than forty years Lucy Cavendish has enriched the lives of women. Students are immersed in a learning environment that builds leadership skills and encourages the self-confidence necessary to achieve their personal and professional goals.
Students form lifelong friendships and, upon graduation, join a network of successful Alumnae. Lucy Cavendish College is the place where women seize the opportunity to succeed.
