Applications for Visiting Fellowships are invited from senior women* visitors from an overseas, EU or UK University or recognised Research Establishment who intend to teach and/or conduct research in the University of Cambridge or in a recognised research establishment in Cambridge and who are not normally resident in Cambridge. Visiting Fellows are normally expected to be in residence for at least one term and their status cannot normally be extended beyond one academic or calendar year. There will not normally be more that six Visiting Fellows in residence at any one time.
Privileges of Visiting Fellows:
Visiting Fellows are matriculated as members of the College and are observers at Governing Body Meetings.
· Four Formal Halls and eight lunches per term
· Suppers after Governing Body Meetings
· Invitation to attend Anna Bidder Research Evenings and their suppers
· The Audit Supper following the Governing Body Audit Meeting (Michaelmas Term)
· The Lyttelton Dinner (when being held)
· Use of Library study carrel
· use of Anna Bidder Room
· option of renting shared use of private study equipped for computer use if available
· photocopying facilities
· accommodation at senior rate if available;
· use of gym
Charges for Visiting Fellows
£400 for each of the Michaelmas and Lent Terms and £350 for the Easter Term or £150 per month during Long Vacation to cover the cost of providing college services and facilities; other meals in addition to those listed above would be charged at senior rates
Visiting Scholars
Applications for Visiting Scholarships are invited from women* who will be a) on sabbatical leave or
b) carrying out teaching or research in Cambridge or
c) funded by a learned society or recognised grant-giving body
and who will be engaged in teaching and/or research in the University of Cambridge or in a recognised research establishment while in Cambridge and who are not normally resident in Cambridge.
Visiting Scholars are normally expected to be in residence for at least one term and their status cannot normally be extended beyond one academic or calendar year. There will not normally be more than six Visiting Scholars in residence at any one time.
Privileges of Visiting Scholars include the following:
Visiting Scholars will also be offered Membership of the Combination Room with dining privileges for the duration of their visit.
· Use of Library study carrel
· use of Anna Bidder room
· Two Formal Halls and four lunches in each term of residence
· The first Governing Body supper of their stay
· photocopying facilities
· Invitation to attend Anna Bidder Research Evenings and their suppers
· accommodation at senior rate if available
· use of gym
Charges for Visiting Scholars
£267 for each of the Michaelmas and Lent Terms and £233 for the Easter Term or £100 per month during Long Vacation to cover the cost of providing college services and facilities; other meals in addition to those listed above would be charged at senior rates
How to apply
Applicants for Visiting Fellowships or Visiting Scholarships should provide an up-to-date CV and list of publications, the names and contact details of two referees, information about their proposed affiliation (if any) with a University Department, Centre or Research establishment and an outline of their project while in Cambridge.
