Alumnae
Alumnae Events, September and November 2012
The College has arranged a number of exciting Alumnae events taking place in September and November of this year, with the September ones timed to coincide with the University's Alumni weekend taking place from 21 - 23 September.
Events will include an Alumnae re-union dinner on 21 September, piano concert from Gulsin Onay, and Turkish buffet dinner on Saturday 22, various events to celebrate the College's first acceptance of undergraduate students in 1972, as well as tastings of the College wine, accompanied by talks from the wine's maker.

Dear Alumna,
Welcome to the Alumnae section of the website; at Lucy Cavendish we really encourage Alumnae to stay in touch, remain actively involved in all College events where possible and to take full advantage of our various networking opportunities. Once a member of Lucy Cavendish College, you're always a member.
Events & Forums
Alumnae Association events are a very popular way for College members to stay in touch and we aim to provide something for every taste. The Lucy Cavendish Forum takes place twice a year in Michaelmas and Lent terms, when an Alumna is invited to speak about her time at College and the career path she has followed since graduation. These occasions are inspiring evenings, when current students and Alumnae can come together to share their experiences and network with each other.
Each year, the London Forum takes place in our country's capital. Past speakers have included Diana Athill, Michael Bywater and Ali Smith and the College also held an event at the BPP College in London, hosted by Baroness Cohen, first President of BPP and one of our honorary Fellows, for law alumnae. More recently, we've joined Baroness Perry for a tour of the House of Lords and House of Commons and enjoyed lunch at the National Portrait Gallery.
The Lucy Cavendish Garden Party is another annual event when College members can return for a little summer socialising within an informal setting, as well as the fantastic Women's Word Festival which takes place every year in late June when Lucy Cavendish plays host to some of the most celebrated names in the literary world.
The annual University's Alumni Weekend also takes place each year in late September during which Lucy Cavendish Alumnae have access to all of the exciting events taking place across Cambridge. The events programme for this year can be found on the University website. During this weekend we also run our own set of College events that we would encourage you to attend. Bookable accommodation is available in College for Lucy Cavendish Alumnae visiting from out of town.
Dinners & Formals
If you are in Cambridge one evening, why not come to Formal Hall? At Lucy Cavendish, you and your guests are welcome to attend every Formal during term-time (the only exception being Christmas and the last Formal Hall of the year, where priority is given to the current student body due to popularity). Bookings can be made in the usual way following the Lucy Cavendish website links, and a full Formal Hall list for the current academic year is available to view online (this list also contains information on the pre-dinner talks being held each night from 6 - 6.45pm in the Woodlegh Seminar Room, Strathaird - further information available here). The College holds two additional Formal Halls in the Michaelmas and Lent Terms on Friday evenings, so that Alumnae may attend without the prospect of having to go to work the next day. Many of our Alumnae organise their own small reunions with their peer or subject group, and we are always delighted to see old friends for dinner.
