Membership of the Combination Room (including honorary membership) is extended to those who are not members of the College or who no longer work for the College, but with whom the College wishes to retain a relationship. The Membership represents a valuable external network for the College and an opportunity to acknowledge friendship towards Lucy Cavendish College from people not closely connected with it.
Honorary Members of the Combination Room have certain meal entitlements and both Honorary and ordinary Members of the Combination Room are strongly encouraged to participate in College life by coming in to lunch or dinner and by bringing guests into College.
Post-doctoral Membership of the Combination Room
A distinct category of affiliation which does not confer membership of the College, candidates for Post-doctoral Membership of the Combination Room are nominated by members of the Fellowship to the Fellowship Committee.
Those in this category are entitled to dining privileges including the right to bring guests to meals in College, reading privileges in the library and the use of the Anna Bidder room, the student common rooms and the gym. They are expected to be an integral part of College life.
