Welcome to the third issue of Nautilus

In this edition we get to know two of our alumnae, as well as reviewing the 2014 Alumni Festival and looking ahead to the events of 2015, which is  shaping up to be an incredibly exciting year for the College, with events to celebrate our 50th anniversary as well as an important new arrival in College. If you'd like to have a closer look at what has been happening in College this year, our 2014 Annual Review is now available online.

As many of you may have heard, Lucy Cavendish College recently appointed distinguished journalist, Jackie Ashley, as the eighth College President. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Ms Ashley on her new appointment. Ms Ashley will take up the role in September 2015 and we look forward to welcoming her to College.

I would also just like to draw your attention to the expanding range of Lucy Cavendish merchandise available to purchase in College. From specially commissioned College Cava and crystal paperweights, to cotton t-shirts and crested mugs, there are plenty of ways to support your College whilst treating yourself.

We'd like to remind you that alumnae can book for Formal Hall online. All alumnae are warmly welcomed to attend Formal Halls throughout the year; do contact the Development Office if you have any queries.

I hope you enjoy this edition of Nautilus. We would appreciate any feedback you have; please do drop us a line at

Best wishes
Julie McDonald, President
