The Nautilius Café is open from 8am until 12 noon Monday to Friday in the Student Common Room. We have a delicious selection of pastries, hot items, cereal, porridge, fresh fruit and juice. For a more substantial meal sandwiches, wraps, cakes, and snacks are available to either have in or take away if you're out for the day. We have a lovely new bean-to-cup coffee machine for hot drinks and Lucy Cavendish reusable cups (for sale in the Porters' Lodge) to take your hot drink away in.
What's for lunch?
Lunch is served on weekdays throughout the year, with a choice of hot and cold main courses, sandwiches, salads and soup; vegetarian and vegan options are always available and our team cater for a variety of other dietary requirements. Takeaways are available. At weekends, there is a well-attended Saturday brunch and a traditional ‘Sunday Roast’. Food is priced on a per-item basis, with the average lunch costing around £6.00.
What's for supper?
An informal evening supper takes place four times a week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 6.30pm until 7.45pm, during term time, and is often themed to reflect the diverse interests and cultural heritage of our students. Like most Cambridge Colleges, we also have a strong tradition of 'Formal Halls': weekly three-course, candle-lit, dinners at which academic gowns are worn and diners encouraged to socialise with guests and members of the College they might not otherwise get to know. Formal Hall usually takes place on a Thursday evening and the occasional Friday, in place of the usual supper.
Is there a bar?
The student-run College Bar located in the conservatory is open every Thursday and Friday in term time. The Common Room has tea- and coffee-making facilities, as well as a vending machine. Drinks are also available in the College Library.
