About this Event

The event is open to everyone and designed to give budding authors advice on how to write a novel and get published. It was launched in 2019 to support the college’s fiction prize, now celebrating its 10th year, which has been a spring-board for many literary careers. Successfully published authors now include Sara Collins (The Confessions of Frannie Langton) Gail Honeyman (Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine), Kelleigh Greenberg-Jephcott (Swan Song), Laura Marshall (Friend Request and Three Little Lies), Frances Maynard (The Seven Imperfect Rules of Elvira Carr and Maggsie McNaughton’s Second Chance) and Catherine Chanter (The Well).

Featuring:

- Literary agents from Peters Fraser and Dunlop

- Leading publishers and editors

- Critically acclaimed authors, including internationally bestselling novelist Sophie Hannah, Francis Maynard (The Seven Imperfect Rules of Elvira Carr and Maggsie McNaughton’s Second Chance), Lesley Sanderson (The Orchid Girls), Kelleigh Greenburgh-Jephcott (Swan Song), Laura Marshall (Friend Request and Three Little Lies) and Sara Collins (The Confessions of Frannie Langton).

The Festival promises a day and a half of talks, workshops and panel discussions by industry experts, literary agents, creative writing professionals and published authors plus 1:1 speed mentoring sessions with industry experts. There will also be tips about entering the writing competition at the event.
