Alumnae Association President sets up new flexible legal practice

19 December 2013

Congratulations to our Alumnae Association President Julie McDonald, an experienced family law solicitor, who has launched her own business, providing affordable advice on family law, including divorce, wills and lasting powers of attorney.Julie McDonald

A former partner with Gross & Co in Bury she is a member of Resolution, which looks to avoid confrontational litigation, and says with the demise of legal aid more people are struggling to access the justice system.

She said: “It was the right time. I can offer lower cost legal advice as working from home I don’t have the high overheads. I can see people in their homes or in offices I rent in Bury and Newmarket. I can offer flexibility and out of hours advice, it is difficult for people who need legal advice today. They either pay or represent themselves and this limits access to justice".

We wish Julie all the best with her new venture and every success.
