Join the Alumnae Association Committee!

College CrestThe Lucy Cavendish College Alumnae Association will be appointing three new officers to its Committee at the AGM on 28 September. Please get in touch if you would like to make a nomination (this could be for a friend or yourself), or if you would like any further information. All Lucy Cavendish College alumnae are eligible for nomination.

President

Term: 3 years.
Duties:

  • Chairing termly committee meetings (scheduled for Thurs 14 November 2019, Thurs 6 February 2020 and Thurs 23 April 2020) and the Annual General Meeting (26 September 2020).
  • Overseeing the coordination and activity of the members of the Alumnae Association.
  • Co-signatory of cheques, alongside the Treasurer.
     

Treasurer

Term: 3 years.
Duties:

  • Providing general oversight of the Association’s finances, managing its bank account and cash flow and producing summary reports at committee meetings.
     

Cambridge- and/or London-based Events Co-ordinator

Duties:

  • Member of the Events sub-committee.
  • Arranging social events for alumnae in the Cambridgeshire and/or London area. Previous events include: a trip to the RSA in London, a trip to see The Mousetrap in the West End; a trip to Leckhampton Gardens; a visit to the Parker and Pepys Libraries; and a visit to see Crystal Palace in Bury St Edmund’s and an optional brewery tour.

Applications will be accepted from alumnae wishing to co-ordinate events in either London or Cambridge or both. Please include your preference on application.

 

All Committee members meet four times a year, at termly meetings and the Annual General Meeting which takes place during the Alumni Festival weekend in September each year. For an overview of the committee structure, click here.
 

How to apply

Please advise Tom Hawker-Dawson (Deputy Development Director) of your intention to stand and which role you are interested in. Please also provide a brief summary (no more than 250 words) as to why the role appeals to you and what makes you a suitable candidate. This statement will be included in the meeting papers for the AGM, so attendees can review nominees in advance.

Voting will take place at the Alumnae Association AGM on Saturday 28 September (before College Community Drinks and Alumnae Dinner).
